Peter Marc Farrugia is undertaking doctoral research in theology at St Mary’s University, Twickenham. His thesis considers Holy Saturday as an account of wounded time and the limits of closure after harm. His wider writing brings psychotherapy into conversation with Christian theology, safeguarding and material religious practice.
He is also a warranted Gestalt psychotherapist, lecturer, trainer and psychotherapy student mentor. Details of his clinical work and professional standing are published separately on the psychotherapy practice site.
His professional work includes safeguarding and victim care, with particular interest in the conditions under which care remains trustworthy. He teaches and develops resources across psychotherapy, trauma, institutional response and theological questions connected with harm and repair.
He also develops projects in image, music and devotion, working with iconography, chant, dream and memory. These projects adapt inherited forms experientially rather than presenting them as recovered historical systems.
Pietru is the Maltese form of Peter and the name used by his grandparents. His drawings and exhibitions are signed with it.
